Overview
HabitLink is a next-generation iOS application that redefines the habit-tracking experience by introducing a social layer to personal growth. While most trackers are solitary tools, HabitLink allows users to build habits alongside friends, fostering accountability through shared progress. The app combines behavioral psychology with a premium, native-feeling interface to ensure that self-improvement feels like a collective journey rather than a chore.
My role
I served as the Product Lead and Designer, overseeing the project from the initial concept to the App Store launch. My responsibilities included market research to identify gaps in the productivity sector, defining the social interaction logic, building a scalable Design System, and managing the monetization strategy through data-driven A/B testing.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was to enter a saturated market by offering something truly unique: a social habit tracker. Most existing apps are either too clinical or lack a community aspect, leading to high abandonment rates. I needed to design an experience that felt as native and high-end as Apple’s own system apps while integrating complex social features like friend activity feeds and shared challenges. A key goal was to match the UI standards of market giants, incorporating advanced aesthetics like «liquid glass» effects even before they became part of the official iOS 26 guidelines.

The Process
Phase 1: Research and UX Foundation
The first stage involved a deep dive into social dynamics within productivity tools. I designed a minimalist, high-contrast dark interface that reduces friction and highlights user progress. Central to this phase was the development of a universal UI-Kit. I implemented a flexible architectural approach that allows for full color customization across all components; users can personalize their habit cards with a wide spectrum of gradients and tones, ensuring that the interface scales beautifully regardless of the chosen theme.

Phase 2: Personalization and Edge Scenarios
To deepen user engagement, I focused on high-level personalization and robust edge-case handling. I designed a system that allows users to set custom avatars and characters, making their social profile feel unique. Beyond the happy path, I meticulously mapped out edge scenarios, such as archiving habits, handling missed streaks, and managing privacy settings for shared activities. This ensures that the app remains stable and intuitive even during complex social interactions or data synchronization shifts.

Phase 3: Animation and Polishing
To make the app stand out against competitors, I spent a significant amount of time on «polishing» the interface. I integrated fluid animations and micro-interactions that give the app a tactile, high-end feel. By implementing the «liquid glass» aesthetic early on, I ensured that HabitLink felt futuristic and premium. Every transition, from checking off a habit to opening a friend's profile, was tuned to be smooth and responsive, reinforcing the app's native-like performance.
Phase 4: Monetization and A/B Testing
The final phase focused on scaling revenue through the implementation of the Adapty service. I designed a series of high-converting paywalls and conducted rigorous A/B testing on pricing models and value propositions. By refining the UI of the subscription screens and emphasizing premium features like «Challenge Mode» and exclusive themes, we achieved significant performance jumps:
CIS Market: Lifted the «Unique Conversion Rate» from 0.2% to 1%.
US Market: Increased the «Unique Conversion Rate» from 0.5% to 3%.

Results
HabitLink successfully launched as a unique social player in the productivity space, achieving over 20,000+ installs in its initial phase. By focusing on a native iOS-like aesthetic and stable social logic, the app maintains an exceptional 4.9-star average rating on the App Store. The project demonstrated that combining a premium UI with a social-first approach can significantly improve conversion rates and user satisfaction, establishing HabitLink as a standout tool for the modern, connected user.
